1. General Recycling & Landfill

Antelope Valley Public Landfill (Waste Management) This is the main site for trash, bulky items, and standard recyclables.

• Hours: * Mon–Fri: 6:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Must be on scale by 4:45 PM)

  • Saturday: 6:00 AM – 1:00 PM (Must be on scale by 12:45 PM)

• Resident Perk: Palmdale residents receive two free dump vouchers per year (loaded electronically to your WM account).

• Note for Today: Even though today is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the landfill is open and operating on regular hours.

2. Household Hazardous Waste & E-Waste

Antelope Valley Environmental Collection Center (AVECC) Located at the same entrance as the landfill, but operated as a separate free service for residents to drop off "toxic" items.

• Hours: 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month (9:00 AM – 3:00 PM).

• Accepted: Paint, motor oil, batteries, pesticides, electronics (TVs, PCs), and fluorescent bulbs.

• Next Opening: Since today is Monday the 19th, and the 3rd Saturday was the 17th, the next opening will be Saturday, February 7, 2026.

3. Cash for Cans (CRV Buyback)

Allan Company If you want to redeem your glass, plastic, or aluminum containers for cash.

• Address: 130 West Kaslow St, Palmdale, CA 93551

• Services: CRV redemption for bottles and cans, plus scrap metal recycling.

4. Special Programs

• Document Shredding: Available to residents every 2nd Saturday of odd months (January, March, etc.) from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the landfill.

• Bulky Item Pickup: You can schedule 4 free curbside pickups per year by calling Waste Management at (661) 947-7197.
