In Moreno Valley, recycling centers are organized into three main categories: CRV buy-back centers for cash, county facilities for hazardous waste, and city-sponsored events for bulky items or shredding.

Note: As of January 1, 2026, the minimum per-pound rates for CRV have been updated. For example, aluminum is approximately $1.66/lb and #1 PET plastic is $1.46/lb.

For items like Antifreeze, Batteries, Oil, and Paint, you should use the county-run facility.
Location: Badlands Landfill (31125 Ironwood Avenue).
Hours: Mon–Sat, 6:00 am to 4:30 pm (ABOP facility is closed on major holidays).
What they take: Paint, motor oil, filters, antifreeze, and household batteries.

The City of Moreno Valley hosts several "Free" days for residents throughout the year. You will need to bring proof of residency (like a utility bill).
Free Dump Day: Saturday, February 7, 2026 (8 am – 12 pm) at the WM Transfer Station (17700 Indian Street).
Free Shred Event: Saturday, March 21, 2026 (8 am – 12 pm) at the City Corporate Yard (25180 Santiago Dr).
Hazardous/Electronic Waste Events: * Saturday, April 11, 2026 (9 am – 2 pm)
Saturday, November 14, 2026 (9 am – 2 pm)

Bulky Items: Don't haul that old couch yourself—Waste Management (WM) provides free weekly bulky item pickups for residents. You must call them at (800) 423-9986 at least 48 hours before your trash day to schedule it.
Scrap Metal: Sanchez Recycling also accepts non-ferrous metals like copper, brass, and aluminum rims for scrap value.
